Carvajal declared fit to train again

The pericarditis Dani Carvajal was suffering from has shown signs of improvement. The Real Madrid full-back will return to training next week, as reported by Fernando Burgos on Radioestadio, after the tests the player underwent have turned out satisfactorily and have shown that the inflammation he had on the outside of his heart has now gone down.

This is the best news possible for Zinedine Zidane who, until Madrid’s last game, had used Carvajal as a starter in every game. The full-back was a key component in the team and his place in it was undisputed. His absence had forced the Madrid manager to improvise a solution.

With Theo injured and Marcelo suspended, Achraf was given his opportunity to play a leading role in the work of the Blancos, who will soon have Carvajal available again when it had been feared he would be out for a lot longer.
