Madrid ‘keeper returns from international duty with Costa Rica with ‘a swollen adductor muscle in his right groin’

Another setback for Zinedine Zidane. Keylor Navas returned from international duty and is back to work at Real Madrid, but he had train alone as he is carrying an injury he picked up while playing for Costa Rica.

It was the Costa Rican Federation who first informed of the Real Madrid goalkeeper’s injury on their own web page: “Keylor Navas has a tear in the vastus medialis and part of the adductor muscle in the right groin.” Nothing was said about the recuperation time, but Navas could also miss Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Tottenham Hostspur at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Later, Real Madrid themselves posted a medical report on their goalkeeper, indicating that he is suffering from ‘a swollen adductor muscle in his right groin’, adding that ‘his recovery will continue to be assessed’.
